Physiotherapy

You may see a Physiotherapist as part of your Chest Wall Clinic Consultation for assessment of your chest movement, breathing pattern and posture.

If it is felt appropriate the Physiotherapist will work with you and provide an individualised exercise programme or may arrange for you to be seen by a Physiotherapist locally.

It is important for children and young people to adopt an active lifestyle to maintain flexibility, strength and good posture to minimise any impact of anterior chest wall deformity. Babies should be encouraged to achieve their developmental milestones through tummy time, rolling and crawling with older children and young people participating in daily age appropriate activity.

Please use the links below for ideas and advice regarding activity for children and young people.

Further advice and recommendations will be provided during clinic consultation.
